The Village Hall 

Marchington Village Hall consists of the main hall with stage, meeting room/ lounge with bar and catering kitchen, conference room and another separate kitchen.  The whole hall can be hired or each of the rooms can be hired separately, in any combination. All rooms are supported by the newly refurbished ladies, gents and disabled toilets. The Hall has both alcohol and music licences.

Main hall with stage
Ideal for weddings, adults and childrens parties, dinners, plays, concerts, dances and activity groups.
  • Dimensions: 12.5m x 8.5m 
  • Facilities: Sprung dance floor, central heating, lighting rig. Large raised stage at front
  • Capacity: Seats an audience of up to 120 people. For parties and entertaining, 90 dining guests or 120 evening guests without tables
  • The hall is large enough to house a bouncy castle for children’s parties
  • Stage: Suitable for theatrical productions and will take an eight piece band. At the front of the stage is a drop-down screen for slide or film presentations.There are full width stage curtains at the rear, centre and front of the stage
  • There is also a piano available for use

Marchington Viillage Hall Bar area
Meeting room with bar and large catering kitchen
Known as the John Ellwood lounge, this comfortable room is ideal for small meetings or receptions and for catering. Photo shows lounge area, kitchen area has since been extended, see next photo.
  • Dimensions: 7.6m x 5.2m
  • Facilities: Large bar counter with lockable pull down shutter, power points, 
  • Capacity: 25 conference style or 16 boardroom style
  • Smaller receptions or cocktail parties of up to 20 people are well suited to this room and it can be used also for food preparation and catering for the Main Hall, with step-free access

  • Capacity: 25 conference style, 25 boardroom style
  • Smaller parties or receptions of up to 25 people are well suited to this room

  • About 12 cars can park to the rear of the hall
  • There is also on-road parking directly outside the hall

Disabled access
  • The village hall is fully accessible via a ramp to the front entrance
  • The main hall, toilet facilities and John Ellwood lounge, bar and kitchen are all located on the ground floor
  • The upper kitchen, stage and committee room are only accessible by  stairs
  • A newly refurbished disabled toilet is located off the entrance hall


Family-friendly facilities
  • Baby changing facilities are available within the disabled toilet in the entrance hall.
  • High chairs are freely available on request.

  • The ladies, gents and a separate disabled toilet with baby changing facility have all recently undergone a complete refurbishment.
